How to load your refund on your RushCard

Whether you file your taxes yourself or work with a professional, use this checklist to stay on top of the information you'll need to keep handy.

Personal Information

  • Full name, exactly as it appears on your RushCard
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • RushCard routing number: 073972181 to have your tax refund automatically loaded onto your RushCard
  • RushCard 16-digit Direct Deposit ID Number

Personal Information about other people

  • Dates of birth for everyone included on your tax return
  • Social Security numbers or tax ID numbers for everyone included on your tax return
  • Annual income of other adults in your home
  • Childcare records (including the provider's tax ID number), if applicable
  • Form 8332 showing that the child's custodial parent is releasing their right to claim a child to you, the non-custodial parent (if applicable)

Student Loans/Education Payments

  • Forms 1098-T from your educational institutions
  • Receipts that itemize qualified educational expenses
  • Records of any scholarships or fellowships received
  • Form 1098-E if you paid student loan interest

  • W-2 forms

Other documents you might need

In some cases, RushCard may need additional documentation to prove your identity and prevent fraudulent activity on your card account.

Those documents may include:

  • Proof of address
  • A copy of your original 1040 tax form
  • Copies of your driver's license and/or your Social Security card if we don't already have them on file

Yes. However, to have a tax refund loaded to your RushCard, the name on the tax return MUST match the name on the RushCard that is being used. If filing jointly, make sure the name on your RushCard is the first name listed on your tax return.

We understand that you may want to utilize your refund as soon as possible. However, there are spending and withdrawal limits. There is a $2,500 combined spending limit on all point-of-sale and ATM transactions that occur in a 24-hour period. The maximum withdrawal from an ATM in one transaction is $500 or a total of $1,500 in a 24-hour period. Some financial institutions may allow an in-bank withdrawal (also called a teller cash withdrawal). You may withdraw up to $1,500.00 per transaction with a maximum of $1,500.00 per day. Please note, there is $2.50 transaction fee associated and proof of identity is required
